Service Division Extends the system within the valley.
Computer Dept has implemented full-fledged computerized Service Division system and line maintenance system in various eight exchanges this year.

SD was implemented in Kirtipur and RSU: (Dakshinkali), Balambu, Bhaktapur and RSU: (Nalinchowk, Nagarkot), Hattigauda, Saibu, Thecho, Thaiba, and Indrayani Exchanges.

The system will be installed in the following 3 exchanges Thimi, Lubhu and Gwarko within this Fiscal Year. These exchanges have subscriber's line capacity greater than 2500 and less than 20 thousand.Computer Dept has already implemented Full-fledged SD in Sundhara, Patan, Naxal and RSU: (Thamel, Maharajgunj, Ghattekulo), Chabahil and RSU: (Koteshwor, Kapan-I, KapanII, Babarmahal), Chhauni and RSU: (Hallchowk) and Gongabu exchanges in F.Y. 2062/63.

Internet PoP Has been set-up in Dhangadi
Computer Dept has extended its Internet POP in Dhangadi. By this, customers from Dhangadi area can dial local pop to connect the Internet throughout Nepal Telecom. That made the number of installed PoP Fifteen.

New Dimension in Nepal Telecom Internet
Nepal Telecom has recently introduced new dimension by connecting its Internet through the cross border optical fiber sytem. The Internet Gateway of Nepal Telecom is connected to the global submarine Internet system through Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited through the optical fiber cable at Biratnagar and Birganj. Connecting simulteneously at two places in the border towns has provided greater amount of diversity for the Internet network of Nepal Telecom. The optical fiber connectivity has greatly helped reduce the latency of the system on top of the higher bandwidth.
