Ongoing Projects

NTSAT for remote VDC's – As per Nepal Telecommunication's Goal "Nation Building Our Aim" Satellite Services Directorate has massively embarked upon installing 350 nos. of NTSAT terminals in remote VDC's of mountainous and hilly district of the country. Purchase of another 200 NTSAT terminals is in pipeline under II lot. The return from these telephone lines is very minimum compared to huge investment required for installation and transportation of equipment in remote places. In some places technical personnel has to walk up to seven days to reach installation site. Nepal Telecom also participated in Tender Invitation called by Nepal Telecom Authority in 2008 to provide at least 2 telephone lines and internet services in 47 un-served VDC's of Eastern Development Region, which have been deprived of any kind of telecommunication services till date. Nepal Telecom won the contract by filling contract cost "ZERO" with a sense of responsibility of nation building. As of 31 Dec 2009 some 12 NTSAT terminals have been installed. Remaining terminals will be completed by January 2010.
