What is PACKET SWITCHING NETWORK?
Packet Switching can be defined as the routing of data in discrete quantities
called packets each in specific format and within a maximum size. The
packet of information is then enveloped by other bits to form a frame.
The frame including the packet is then transmitted through the network.
The ability of the network to transmit several data messages along a single
channel in statistical multiplexing manner as and when required, provides
a more efficient and economical means of data communication.
