a) SMS Alert
This service is a One-way Mobile Termination service on which customers can't send any response. This service is mostly useful for Financial Transaction alerts, payment confirmation alerts, marketing&promotion messages, personalized messages, etc. This service requires a technical test with the client or Value Added Service Provider(VASP) before bringing this into commercial operation. Alert_name is assigned in place of the numeric Short-Code.
b) SMS Short Code
This service is an interactive SMS service where customers can also send a response or queries on services like Exam Results, Polling, Voting, Quiz services, marketing & promotion messages, etc. This service also requires technical tests and NTA approval before bringing this into commercial operation. A numeric short-code is assigned for the client or VASP for this service.
c) Web-based Bulk SMS
This service is a kind of broadcast service where several customers will get the same message from the sending party. This service is most suitable for organizations like schools, colleges, business houses, SMEs, or other organizations that wish to send the same message to several customers at the same time. The main advantage of this service is its highly subsidized cost, ease of use and less time to implement. This doesn’t require any test and can be started within a working day. Alphanumeric code is assigned to the client for this service.
Process
SMS Alert & Short Code
- Prepare a formal request letter
- Include the company profile, purpose of service, target customer or client base
- Submit Company Registration and Tax Registration Copy
- Submit a complete request letter to the below mentioned contact address
- The requesting company for this service needs to be ready with the SMS application/system before contacting Nepal Telecom. Nepal Telecom will only provide the required connection to their system for the provisioning of the mentioned service.
Web-Based Bulk SMS
- Prepare a formal request letter
- Include the company profile, purpose of Bulk SMS, and target customer or client base
- Submit Company Registration and Tax Registration Copy
- Submit a complete request letter to the below mentioned contact address
- Upon response from Nepal Telecom, prepare for the contract signing
- Submit the required amount based on the SMS volume quota on the bank account listed below
- After payment is received, a user account will be created and the customer will get mail with login credentials to the portal provided by Nepal Telecom with the stepwise process of SMS transmission. The requesting company does not need to have their own system for this service.

उपरोक्त दर रेट अनुसार Web Based Bulk SMS खरीद गर्दा न्यूनतम 1,500 SMS Quota वा तोकिएको Slab अनुसारको हुन आउने कर समेतको रकम अग्रिम रुपमा तोकिएको बैंकमा भुक्तानी गर्नुपर्नेछ । त्यसपछि मात्र Customer ले भुक्तानी गरेको रकम बरावरको Quota थप गरी उक्त Slab मा उल्लेख गरिएको SMS पठाउन मिल्ने गरी समयावधि समेत थप गरिनेछ । क्रमबृद्धि आधार (Incremental Basis) लागु हुने छैन ।
